Worship at Saugatuck Congregational

Worship Schedule

There are two worship services every Sunday throughout the whole year. The 8:30 am worship service begins with the congregation selecting hymns, includes a sermon and a time of prayer, closing with a fellowship circle around the church. The 10:30 worship service includes a children's time with the Pastors, our choirs, the church school classes, the sermon and prayers, and a time of Fellowship following worship.  Holy Communion is served at both services on the first Sunday of the month.

During the summer months, the 8:30 service is held at Compo Beach, near the cannons. Saugatuck joins with Greens Farms Congregational Church and Norfield Congregational Church in providing this worship service. No Beach sticker is required to attend the service. Just tell the guard at the gate that you would like to attend the church service.

From September to June there are Vespers Services held each Wednesday at 7:00pm.  Each week of the month a different style of worship is presented at Vespers.  They are:

First Wednesday - the Serenity Service (built on the Serenity Prayer and the 12 Steps of various recovery programs)

Second Wednesday - the Taize Service (using chant, silence, scriptures and prayer)

Third Wednesday - the Healing Service (offering a brief meditation, music, anointing with oil, the laying on of hands and healing prayer)

Fourth Wednesday - the Jazz Vesper (offered in the idioms of Jazz)

Fifth Wednesday - (when applicable) the Youth - led Vespers (led by members of the Saugatuck Youth Group)

All Vespers services last 30-45 minutes.  All are invited!
