Church School:
Special Events
Throughout the year, our Church School offers many special events for our children and their families. These include:
Angel Breakfast
The Angel Breakfast is an annual event for our church school children and invited guests to experience the real message of Christmas. Our children and guests first begin by singing Christmas Carols up in the choir room with our pianist. Then they proceed to Hoskins Hall and enter into a transformed room decorated to express the wonder and beauty of Christmas. As everyone is seated and eating breakfast, our "Angel Choir" of high school students descends from the stage to sing Christmas hymns and whisper the true message of Christmas to all of the children: That God loves them, and that Jesus is coming! Each family goes home with a special devotional activity to remember the reason for the season!

Christmas Pageant
Our 5:00PM Family Service on Christmas Eve includes a wonderful children's pageant as part of our celebration of Christ's birth. One of the most special features during this service is the Baby Gift Giving, where the children bring forth unwrapped gifts and place them in the manger. The gifts are then taken to the Norwalk Domestic Violence Crisis Center for distribution. These baby gifts are greatly appreciated — especially the disposable diapers, as they are not the usual baby gift but are always needed.

Walk Through Holy Week
During the Easter season, the entire church school takes a tour of the final week in the life of Jesus. The tour of 6 stations includes Palm Sunday; Washing of the feet; the Last Supper; a meeting with Pontius Pilot; carrying the cross up Cavalry Hill; into the tomb; and finally into the Garden where the children are asked to respond to a question about their journey. Each station is staged with sets, props and live actors playing the various people that Jesus encountered during his last days on Earth. At the end, each child places a prayer flower into the 6-foot cross as they express thanks for Jesus’ life.
Ice Cream Social
This is our annual end-of-the-year party held on the last day of church school to celebrate the year which includes an ice cream buffet, hot dogs, and popcorn! This is also the day we celebrate our church school teachers by thanking them during the children's moment in worship.
