Capital Campaign

Living Our Vision - Saugatuck Capital CampaignSaugatuck Church embarked on a Capital Campaign beginning in the winter of 2008. Living Our Vision has been a church-wide effort, supported by our members and friends with gifts of their time, talents and treasure. In addition to a team of twenty leaders, over 100 congregants have or are serving in various volunteer capacities throughout the life of the campaign.

The heart of the campaign was a visitation program whereby each member and friend of the church had an opportunity to meet in fellowship with a visiting steward. These visitations were welcomed as an opportunity to be in community with one another, thereby strengthening our personal commitments to Saugatuck and the bright future for our church that we envision and share.

Capital Campaign GraphThe Saugatuck community responded with faithfulness and generosity, and gifts and pledges have, to date, been received from 203 donors totaling $1,920,693.00. While short of our very ambitious goal of $2.6 million, the financial result is nonetheless remarkable and immensely gratifying. The giving period for pledge fulfillment extends through March 2011, and the participation of new members and friends is encouraged.

The Building Renovation Committee has, and will continue to work with diligence to translate the budget sum raised into a design and renovation plan. However, the responsibility for Living Our Vision still lies with each of us as we complete our financial commitments so that vision may become a reality. Our Prayer Team created the following prayer for our campaign; it is as relevant now as at the campaign's inception:

Lord, we acknowledge and celebrate Your tangible presence in our lives as revealed in the diversity of our experiences. We celebrate the courageous and giving people who, by Your grace, dreamed of Saugatuck Congregational Church and built it as a community where we listen for Your will and work for justice and peace.

May we be faithful stewards as we provide for future generations who will carry out their ministries through this church.

May You be the cornerstone for our renewed building and commitment, and may You hold us together in Your love.

Grant us faithful and generous hearts, so we may join You in creating a future of learning, service and abundant life, open to all, in this place. Amen.

With abundant gratitude for the faithful stewards of Saugatuck,
The Capital Campaign Leadership Team — Andrea Cross and Andy Neilly, Administrators
