Christ and Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, Great Hall
Christ & Holy Trinity Episcopal Church will host David Beckmann, a leading advocate for the hungry and poor and President of Bread for the World. Bread for the World is one of the largest Christian, bipartisan organizations dedicated to building the political will to end hunger. Under David Beckmann's leadership, they have garnered an impressive record of achievements.
Due in part to the persistent, bipartisan advocacy of Bread for the World members, the U.S. government has tripled funding for effective programs in developing countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America. Their work has also helped double the funding for U.S. nutrition programs, helping millions of families in the United States feed their children.
Christ and Holy Trinity's Faith in Action team is organizing area congregations to support Bread's current efforts to prevent cuts in international and domestic food assistance.
This event is co-sponsored by Christ & Holy Trinity Church, United Methodist Churchof Westport and Weston, Saugatuck Congregational Church and Green’s Farms Congregational Church
Join us on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day for this very special opportunity to learn more about hunger, poverty and what one person can do to make a difference!
Then the king will say to those at his right hand, “Come, you that are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world; for I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me...”
