Sunday Farmer’s Market at the Saugatuck Congregational Church
10:00AM–1:00PM, May 30–November 21, 2010
Visit the Sunday Farmer’s Market behind Saugatuck Congregational Church and see both new and familiar vendors selling popular items each week. In addition, this intimate Farmer’s Market includes a way to help fill the continuing need in our communities:

Canned & Fresh Food Drive
Purchase produce, baked goods or other items from the market vendors, or bring your non-perishable goods to donate to the Park City Initiative and Bishop Jean Williams Food Pantry, a Council of Churches of Greater Bridgeport soup kitchen, with programs to help address poverty in Bridgeport.
End of market donations by the Sunday Farmer's Market vendors contribute from 500 to more than 1,000 pounds of produce and market goods each week that in turn helps more than 65 families, soup kitchens and Family Re-entry programs in the greater Bridgeport area. In 2009 the Sunday Farmer's Market vendors donated well over 10,000 pounds of healthy food to our neighbors.
History

The Canned & Fresh Food Drive originated out of Saugatuck Congregational Church in 2007 to help food pantries and soup kitchens while also supporting local vendors. The Sunday Farmer’s Market Canned & Fresh Food Drive was the first in the State of Connecticut, delivering hundreds of pounds of donated goods to soup kitchens & food pantries.
