2010 Thanksgiving Feast

Saugatuck Congregational Church hosted its 40th Annual Community Thanksgiving Day Feast on Thanksgiving Day for more than 275 people. This celebration, like our Christmas Day Feast, was open to people in the area from all walks of life, including the homeless, members of our congregation, and folks who simply want to share a meal with others. Volunteers also delivered meals to 27 people who were homebound.
All of the food served, including 37 turkeys with all the trimmings, was generously contributed by area merchants and donors, or purchased by the Saugatuck Congregational Church Mission Board. We gave out 320 loaves of homemade assorted breads from Coleytown Elementary School PTA. The cooking and serving was done entirely by 100 wonderful dedicated volunteers. Live entertainment was also generously contributed. Any remaining unopened/unused food was donated to area food pantries to fulfill continuing needs.
