Memorial Services

Holding a memorial service at Saugatuck Church provides a peaceful and welcoming environment where family and friends can come together to celebrate a life, find comfort, and share memories.

Sanctuary
Our historic meeting house offers a space for reflection and support, with a maximum capacity of 250. It is a beautiful, traditional New England church, completely renovated in 2014, with a vaulted ceiling and wonderful light. The altar space is open and adaptable, with a raised podium to one side. It is equipped with a beautiful two-manual Klais organ from Germany and a Steinway piano.

Pastoral Support
While our church is conducting a search for our next pastor, we do not have a minister on hand for leading memorial services or helping to plan the service. You are welcome to bring in your own ministers; if you do not have one in mind, we recommend reaching out to the funeral home for a list of ministers who may be available.

Service Music
Our skilled Director of Music Ministries, Dr. Liang-Fang Chang, is available to play organ and/or piano for memorial services upon request, depending on her availability. Soloists and other musicians can also be arranged. You may also bring in your own musicians for the service.

Live-Streaming
For those friends and family who are unable to attend in person, live-streaming and video recording are available upon request.

Reception Options
Our Fellowship Room offers a comfortable space for family and friends to gather and share memories at a reception following the service, with welcoming furnishings that evoke a comfortable home environment. Hoskins Hall is available for larger gatherings (recommended for receptions hosting over 120 guests). We are here to help you create a meaningful service that reflects the unique life and faith of your loved one.
