Serve

Caring for our neighbors is one way we put our faith into action. Explore the opportunities below to help support those in need in our local community and beyond.

Gillespie Food Pantry Donations

and Westport’s Four Days of Service and Remembrance

The Town of Westport is sponsoring Four Days of Service and Remembrance from Sept. 8 – 11 to honor the 25th anniversary of September 11. The event will recognize Westport's commitment to service, commitment, and compassion.

For decades Saugatuck Congregational Church has collected bags of groceries for the Gillespie food pantry. Their current needs include pasta sauce, all types of canned tomatoes, jelly, canned soup, and black and pinto beans. The bags can be dropped off at the Gillespie Center, 45 Jesup Rd, Westport, on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Alternatively, the bags can be dropped off at the Welcome Center at the rear of Saugatuck Church, 245 Post Rd. East, Westport. We will get them to the Gillespie Center.

Thank you in advance for your donations and for helping us participate in Westport’s Days of Service and Remembrance.

Homes with Hope

Serving our neighbors at the Gillespie Center

Providing dinner at the Gillespie Center is a rewarding way to share your time and talents and give back to our community. Saugatuck Church is proud to have a long-standing tradition of serving dinner on the fourth Wednesday of every month.

We ask that you prepare—or purchase—a family-style meal for 20-25 people, including a main dish, side dish, vegetable, and dessert. (No nuts or shellfish, please, to protect those guests with food allergies.) And we're here to help make this easy for you -- recipe ideas, cooking help, and financial support are always available if you need them.

To sign up to serve, contact Holly or Mary Jean or speak to us after the Sunday service.

Thank you!
